How the score works
For each hour it checks the model's vertical profile: a moist, cloudy layer below the summit, dry clear air above it, temperature rising with height (the inversion that traps the cloud), light winds and high pressure. All five need to line up, so the score drops fast when one is missing.
Reading it
60+ likely · 35–59 possible · 15–34 outside chance · under 15 unlikely. Shallow valley fog is hard for weather models to resolve, so treat low hills and deep, narrow valleys as a guide. Times are local to each place. Sun times are calculated for each summit. Data: Open-Meteo, using the best national weather model for each location (Met Office, Météo-France, DWD, NOAA, JMA and others), updated hourly.
